IGB: New research building in Berlin-Dahlem
The new collaborative building for biodiversity research, a joint project of Freie Universität Berlin and the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, has been inaugurated. In the future, approximately 135 researchers will conduct their work here. We are delighted about this future hub for exchange between university and non-university research and for the training of the next generation of scientists.

UBA: Bericht zur Entwicklung des Wasserbedarfs
To better understand the impacts of climate change, socioeconomic, and political developments on future water demand in Germany, methods and knowledge for assessing water demand were compiled.

BFG: Low Water Information System (NIWIS)
A nationwide information resource on the low-water situation in Germany has gone live. Niwis-online.de serves as a platform for consolidating relevant information, enabling direct, interactive analysis and thus making current developments transparent and accessible.

WSA: Published program for the 16th Water Research Horizon Conference
This year’s conference is titled “Theoria cum praxi: shaping | water | futures” and will take place September 14–15 in Berlin. Registration is still open.

ZWU: European premiere of the film “Seeds of Science”
A film about education, equal opportunity, and the daily lives of young women in remote villages in sub-Saharan Africa. The University of Duisburg-Essen and the ZWU jointly hosted the film’s premiere. This was followed by a panel discussion on access to education, gender equality in STEM fields, and the role of science in global development.
